Gilman Architects is a New York City based full service Architecture firm with broad experience in medium to large scale residential, commercial and hospitality projects. We have an extensive track record with all design, marketing, regulatory and construction aspects of our projects.
Our Approach
We believe in the value of deep creativity - the fusion of a dynamic design with a thorough engagement of program, regulations, construction costs and sequencing. Our buildings have integrated designs that resonate on all levels for our clients, their customers and contractors.
We begin each project by working closely with all key parties – Ownership, marketing, regulatory, contractors and sub-contractors and continue meeting regularly to address each project’s unique set of constraints and possibilities, rigorously testing and pricing options. We are collaborative throughout - from the initial designs to the final signoffs – and our broad experience makes us equally effective both in the office and on construction sites. By engaging the details we often find innovative solutions that keep costs down, allowing for high value buildings in a competitive and sophisticated market.

Tom Gilman
Architect, Partner
Tom Gilman is the founder and managing partner of Gilman Architects. He is celebrating his 23rd year of private practice in the City with Gilman Architects and his previous companies. Tom is well known in the NYC development community for his design and development expertise in all aspects of residential, commercial and hospitality projects.
A graduate of Harvard University with a Masters in Architecture, Tom is active in community affairs, as well as an avid outdoor adventurer and furniture designer.
